Took my dog to get his shots at the care-a-van. Employees were annoyed with me that I couldn’t lift my 40+ pound dog onto the table because I’m 6 months pregnant. Then after giving my dog the shots proceeded to say “next time bring someone to help you since you’re 6 months pregnant” in a condescending tone. I told him my husband is a firefighter working a 48 hour shift and we have no family here and just walked away. VERY unprofessional and rude for no reason.
As a black customer I felt some type of way. I was told rudely to leave my pet in the car after asking is it okay if I stand to the side while waiting. It is summer time and I also had my child with me. That being said there was a white person standing to the side of the caravan in the grass with there pet from the moment I walked up. Also theres no policy on the website that says pets need to wait in there vehicle while waiting on service. Reading this alone sounds racially biased. Only brought my pet here so he doesn’t miss out on his vaccine outside of going to his vet. Will never come here again. I
This is my first experience doing this. I saw a sign on my way driving home and thought it would be an affordable option that I desperately needed due to how this current economy gas affected me.
The staff were on edge and a bit irritable. Not their fault, I'm sure it was a long day and the pet owners were not keeping their pets inside their cars though they were instructed to.
I was handed a clipboard and was told to fill it out. I was a bit confused on some parts, so once available I asked a worker which parts were necessary to fill out and he showed me how to fill it out. I selected the options Rabies, FELV, and Deworming. Once it was my turn I handed the woman the clipboard and we went over what shots my cat needed. After speaking with her, she had suggested not to get the deworming as he was not showing any signs, and FVRCP as he is taken outside in the backyard. On my cats medical record, it showed he was not due for this until 2027, but I decided to go with her recommendation. Overall my 10.5lb got his FVRCP, 1 year Rabies, and FELV for $90. (Note: I did show her this record on my phone. I'm unsure if it was processed that the FVRCP was due 3/2027)
She asked to bring my pet over and I let her know my pet had an accident and I would go clean him up and bring him over. She hurriedly told me to just bring him over since they were ready for him.
As I said previously, this is my first time doing a van type visit. My entire time here the dogs were receiving their vaccines on the table outdoors. They took my cat into the van and I waitied outside. We started to hear noises inside the van and the woman asked me if he gets aggressive and I say, "Yes, he gets scared when I'm not next to him. I could help out if needed." And she responded,
"Well next time you need to tell us that ahead of time."
This was a bad experience because had I been told the procedure first, I would've been able to clearly communicate to just give my cat a shot outsode on the table where I could hold him.
Once they were done, a male worker let me know he was aggressive, and to just bring him in to a clinic next time, but he did receive all of his vaccines.
I took my cat back to my car and as I was cleaning him up, I noticed his collar wasn't on. I have a tile on his collar, so I pressed the alarm and noticed it fell of finside of thier van. I went up to the tent and waited for the workers to finish vaccinating a small dog. I let them know my cats collar fell off, and the male worker went to hand it to me, but dropped it on the table before I was able to grab it.
**Overall, I respect what this company is doing. My first experience was not great in the slightest. I felt as if the workers tired and irritable moods were pushed onto me. I wish I was able to speak more clearly with the woman, but with the dogs barking in the backround, and the queue behind me, I felt as if I was being rushed and was not able to make the best decisions for my cat.
I understand people only use this because it’s cheap and you don’t have to have a vet, but they have the worst service I’ve ever seen.
They were at Lowe’s in Redbank. They arrived 15 minutes late then they have never asked to weigh my animal before but all of a sudden, now they wanna weigh my animal. The only lady there was very rude to all people not just myself, and you guys should be ashamed of yourselves. How do you conduct a business this way?
